I’m not even sure how to go about writing what my first week in France has been like, but I guess if I were to liken it to anything it would be like being chucked in at the deep end, but with plenty of armbands, goggles, and a rubber ring for good measure.

I’ve really enjoyed getting stuck into things with my internship at Bless. I’ve met so many people in this first week but it’s surprising how much easier it is to retain those names when most of them are in English. Continue reading

The Spire & the Flag

Excitement levels were high as I entered the centre of Dublin, though my high expectations were not initially met. Getting off the bus and walking through the streets of Dublin, dragging my suitcase along busy roads, I finally reached my destination. I’m all for losing my way (it’s an adventure in itself), but getting lost on the way to my hostel isn’t the best thing to happen when you’re lugging 30kg behind you. Luckily, the Irish folk were more than happy to guide me to the right direction. I crossed the Spire on my slight detour, of course this was a Snapchat moment since the Irish flag was waving away up in the clouds! That’s when it hit me- I’m in Dublin. The heart of Ireland. More importantly, home for the next nine months. Continue reading

La Primera Semana

I am now the proud owner of a Spanish phone contract, bank account, identity number and my apartment has fully-functioning wifi (hurrah!). I’ve located all the best clothes shops, found a large selection of different food-sellers, tried the local ice-cream and I know my way around Zafra (just about). This week has been busy to say the least.
